Tippy's Orange

Tippy's Orange is being formed as a non profit corporation. One of its missions is to support research in the areas of animal cancer and heart disease. Another goal is to promote the use of stem cell treatments in our animals. We will also be dedicated to the rescue and recovery of animals in natural disasters.
Almost one of of every two American families have one or more pets living with us. Pets have become "members" of each of our families. This human-animal bond has elevated the importance of pets to that of human beings in our eyes.
Animal wellness is a great concern to those of us who live with pets. Animal cancer and congestive heart failure are two of the illnesses accounting for the death of many of our beloved pets.
Money is needed to support the current research in those areas. Tippy's Orange will work to raise money to support animal wellness.
This is the second year “anniversary” of Katrina. The hundreds of thousands of people that left the region cannot yet return. So little has been done for the residents and the rebuilding. For “animal lovers’ watching the news, one thing was clear; there was and is no rescue plan for domestic and wildlife animals.
No Kill Animal Shelters workers, rescuers with cars and trucks, rescued and recovered animals from New Orleans. The number of animals “not rescued and not recovered” is unimaginable.

One of its purposes is to rescue and recover as a non profit organization. Its purpose is to rescue and recover animals during natural disasters and wars.

There are approximately 75 million homes with one or more dogs. There are 90 million homes with one or more cats. Roughly 50% of the homes in the United States have an animal.
A disaster situation which displaces one million people is likely displacing 500,000 animals. There are few organizations working and thinking about this problem. To date, there is no national strategy, structure or organization to rescue and recover a significant number of animals.
Given the changes in weather patterns and horrific disasters worldwide, it is likely, millions of people and animals will be displaced, abandoned or die in the coming years.
FEMA, the government agency which provides for rescue, recovery and rebuilding for people, stated the “Katrina disaster has changed the face of the entire emergency management community… we must improve out capabilities”.
There is no equivalent agency for the rescue and recovery of animals. There are in excess of 150,000,000 domestic animals. Strategies, networking, and preparation for any devastation with regard to animals must be done.

Tippy’s Orange will build an organization capable of helping recover and rescue animals during catastrophic natural disasters. One of its primary goal will be to save the lives of animals during natural disasters.
